Overly critical of pregnancy resource centersRe: “Colorado will protect pregnant women,” April 16 editorialGov. Jared Polis and Democratic state legislators squandered a chance to demonstrate that they are truly in favor of choice and not simply pro-abortion.Some women immediately believe they have made a horrible mistake after taking the first pill in the two-pill medication abortion regimen. Until Senate Bill 23-190 was signed into law, they were able to access the abortion pill reversal regimen that utilizes natural progesterone to mitigate the abortifacient effects of mifepristone. This doubled their chances of having a continuing pregnancy based on robust, multifaceted evidence accumulated over the past 17 years. Now women in Colorado are effectively told that they can’t withdraw their consent from the medication abortion procedure. SB 190 cruelly gives them only two options – to finish their abortion and kill their wanted baby or omit the second abortion pill, misop...Cale Makar suspended one game for hit on Jared McCann in Game 4 of Avalanche-Kraken playoff series

Colorado defenseman Cale Makar has been suspended one game by the NHL, meaning he won’t be on the ice for a critical Game 5 vs. the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday at Ball Arena. The league Department of Player Safety held a hearing Tuesday morning with Makar after his Game 4 hit knocked out Jared McCann for at least the next game of this first-round series and “probably” longer than that, according to Kraken coach Dave Hakstol. Makar checked McCann into the end boards after a puck had floated out of play in the first period. McCann, Seattle’s leading scorer, needed to be helped off the ice. This is the first time Makar, 24, has faced a suspension or any supplemental discipline from the NHL.In a video released Tuesday afternoon explaining the suspension, Player Safety indicated it took into account the injury suffered by McCann on the play as well as Makar’s lack of previous on-ice transgressions.Colorado’s Cale Makar has been suspended for one playoff game for Interference a...Latest news
