CHICAGO — A Cook County correctional officer has been charged after he allegedly put handcuffs over his knuckles and hit an inmate multiple times in 2021, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.Reginald Roberson Provided / Cook County Sheriff's OfficeAccording to a news release, Reginald Roberson, 52, was charged Wednesday after he allegedly hit a 29-year-old inmate multiple times in the jail's receiving area on Dec. 29, 2021. CHICAGO — Chicago police say the person who allegedly attacked and later stole a man's vehicle at a gas station on the city's West Side is a 15-year-old boy.Authorities announced charges against the juvenile on Wednesday, which include felony counts of carjacking, aggravated battery robbery and vehicle theft. MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. — Police in Mount Prospect are cautioning locals after an 11-year-old boy narrowly escaped being struck by a Metra train on Tuesday. According to police, the boy was riding his bicycle in the area of Union Pacific Railroad Crossing at Emerson Street near Prospect Avenue as train gates were down. U.S. Highway 290 in Elgin. Officers initially responded to the shots fired call around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.While at the scene, EPD obtained surveillance footage of the parking lot where the shooting occurred. The surveillance footage displayed a Texas license plate for the suspect, the document states.The documents also showed there were four young adult women in the vehicle the suspect shot at. KYLE, Texas (KXAN) – To honor Texas veterans of the Vietnam War who died after returning to the United States, the City of Kyle will host "The Wall That Heals" exhibit from May 4 through 7 at Lake Kyle Park. The In Memory program, founded by Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF), will feature an honor roll display at The Wall That Heals and feature names and photos of the veterans. “We want to honor as many Vietnam Veterans from Hays County as possible,” said American Veterans Post 115 Commander Kerman Hammond. “If your loved one served in Vietnam, returned home and later died – we want to be able to proudly display their name and photo in our community." The weather was so unsettled in March that I postponed my annual trip to Joshua Tree, where it was even colder than it was here.
